HOOP FARM CAMP INFORMATION

Dates and Times:

2012 Camp: UCLA, John Wooden Center, AUGUST 7-10, 2012

Drop off is at 8:30am and pick up is at 3:30pm everyday.

Price:

New Year’s Special: 1/1 – 1/31 $399 per camper

Early Registration: 2/1 – 3/31 $425 per camper

Regular Registration: 4/1 – 6/30 $450 per camper

Late Registration: 7/1 – 8/3/11 $475 per camper

Equipment:

Each camper will receive: – An official Hoop Farm T-Shirt – Reversible jersey – Yoga Mat – Opportunity to take an individual photo with Jordan – Lots of other surprises and giveaways

Refund Policy

Although we are sad to see any athlete go, we do understand that unforeseen issues may arise after registering your athlete. In that case, we offer a full refund as long as the registration is canceled in writing to the Camp Director by no later than July 15, 2012. After this date, no athlete’s tuition cost will be refunded due to cancellation or being excused from the camp. Once a camper checks in to Hoop Farm, refunds for days not attended will not be provided. Please direct all inquiries to the Camp Director at hoopfarm@yahoo.com.

Registration

In order to reserve a spot a camp, we need the entire registration packet to be completed for each camper: an online registration form, a payment and a signed waiver. Simply submitting a registration form online does not guarantee a spot at camp. Please note that if you sign up online, but do not complete the entire registration packet in a timely manner, your spot may be forfeited.

Waiver

All athletes are required to carry valid medical insurance and must also have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian in order to participate. Please fax or mail a copy of the signed waiver, within 15 days of registering, to the address below:

HOOP FARM FAQs

Will meals be provided?

We recommend that every athlete eat breakfast before arriving at the camp each day. Breakfast will not be provided, but it is important that the athletes are fueled and ready to take on 4 days of basketball. The athletes will be provided lunch every day of the camp. Our provider offers the best in healthy and great-tasting meals, and the kids really enjoyed it last year! If you prefer to send a lunch with your athlete, you may do so.

What equipment is included?

All Hoop Farm athletes will receive a T-shirt, reversible jersey, and yoga mat, at no additional fee! The athletes will also receive hydrating beverages during basketball drills and games, so there is no need to bring water bottles!

How can we get autographs from Jordan?

Jordan is more than happy to provide autographs for his campers! On the final day of camp, Jordan will provide autographs for Hoop Farm athletes during the autograph signing session. Everyone who wants an autograph will get one, so don’t worry! Please wait until the final day to ask for autographs.

What separates Hoop Farm from other basketball camps?

At Hoop Farm, we are committed to providing your athlete with the best experience possible! In lieu of traditional stretching, we bring in professional instructors to teach the campers a daily yoga routine. Hoop Farm is not only about basketball skills, we use our time with the campers to also teach them about the green movement and sports nutrition, giving them the knowledge they will need to become healthy and earth-conscious young adults. One of our major highlights is Jordan, he will be at the camps all day everyday, which will ensure a memorable experience for your athlete. On top of the Hoop Farm T-shirt, jersey and yoga mat, each athlete will have the opportunity to take an individual photo with Jordan. These photos will be available for purchase in singles or a variety of packages and sizes. Overall, the Hoop Farm experience is like none other, and we recommend that you try it and find out for yourself!

Hoop Farm Camp

Hoop Farm is back! Camp will be held at UCLA’s John Wooden Center from August 7-10, 2012.

Early camp registration begins on January 3, 2012.
At Hoop Farm, campers receive coaching from 15 top notch NCAA and NBA athletes, as well as instruction from Jordan himself! Jordan is always at each camp all day, everyday, in order to ensure that each camper has a memorable experience and a great time. Hoop Farm offers a basketball camp experience like none other, and we recommend that you come try it for yourself. We hope to see you this summer.

Glad to hear that Jordan will be returning to coach in the future. Jordan’s camp last summer was a real turning point for my son, Trevor, (age 10) — he’s become quite serious about basketball and is playing year-round now in the ARC league on the LA Rockets team. His coach is Rod Foster, a retired NBA player who was on the Phoenix Suns and had played for UCLA, as well. Trevor can’t wait to return to Hoop Farm!

I’m writing now because I wanted to let you know, mom to mom, how impressed my husband was today when he went to pick up our son Aaron Heisen from Jordan ’s camp at UCLA. Traffic had been at a standstill, unexpectedly, because President Obama was in town. Many parents were an hour late (or more) to get their children. When my husband finally arrived at Pauley Pavilion, there was Jordan helping to direct the traffic of frazzled moms and dads trying to find their kids. Jordan stayed to make sure every last child was taken care of. You have raised such a mensch. That’s the most important example your son could set for mine.

I have a die hard basketball fan son who is 9. We have been to kobe camp for 2 years, and ucla camp, but none of the camps have had the warmth, and true caring about the whole player as Jordan’s camp. It was refreshing for me to have so many camp counselors come up to me and talk every time I picked up my son! Thank you for a great experience.

My daughter had such a great time at Jordan’s camp! It was awesome to see a good amount of girls there, playing alongside the boys. I was able to stay and watch one day, and it was so good to see Jordan not only there, but interacting with and giving instruction to the kids. My daughter definitely appreciated that he was there and so involved, as did all the rest of the campers I’m sure. Thank you Jordan, we can’t wait to come back!

This is the most impressive sports camp that my son has attended. It was great to see that Jordan used basketball as an avenue to reach the kids, not only on an athletic level, but on a lifestyle level as well. He had professionals teach the kids about proper nutrition and the green movement, things that are incredibly important to instill in our kids while they’re young. I love the comprehensive approach, great job Hoop Farm team! See you all next year.

This is my favorite basketball camp. I’m 10 and want to do Hoop Farm again next year. Jordan is my favorite player in the NBA. He was nice and gave me a Lakers hat because I won knockout in my team. Me and my friends had fun.

HOOP FARM DIRECTIONS AND PARKING

How do I get to UCLA and where do I park?

UCLA is northeast of the intersection between the 405 & 10 freeways in Los Angeles. Here are directions from your area:

From north (Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, etc.): Take the 405 freeway south, exit Sunset Blvd. Turn left on Church Ln., then make a left on Sunset Blvd. Turn right on Westwood Plaza, and proceed straight ahead into Parking Lot 4.

From south (South Bay): Take the 405 freeway north, exit Sunset Blvd. Turn right onto Sunset Blvd., then right on Westwood Plaza. Proceed straight ahead into Parking Lot 4.

From west (Santa Monica): Take the 10 freeway west to the 405 freeway north. Exit Sunset Blvd., and turn right. Then turn right on Westwood Plaza. Proceed straight ahead into Parking Lot 4.

From east (Downtown L.A.): Take the 10 freeway east to the 405 freeway north. Exit Sunset Blvd., and turn right. Then turn right on Westwood Plaza. Proceed straight ahead into Parking Lot 4.

Will parking be provided for parents at UCLA?

Free parking will be provided for parents during drop off and pick up times only. On Day 1, Hoop Farm team members will be in front of Lot 4 to provide parking passes to all Hoop Farm participants. Make sure to have a UCLA parking pass on your dashboard while you drop off or pick up your athlete(s) or you may receive a parking citation at your own expense.

If parents want to stay all day at camp, they will have to purchase their own parking pass. There are various parking kiosks and pay-by-space lots around UCLA where a day pass can be purchased for $11 a day. One kiosk is located inside Parking Lot 4. There are also Pay by Space areas in Lot 4 where you can purchase a ticket for a few hours.
