Jordan Farmar’s First Annual “Hoop Farm” Basketball Camp will be held August 18th-22nd at Pauley Pavilion on the UCLA Campus. The camp is open to boys and girls aged 8-16. Campers will tune their shooting, dribbling, passing, and defensive skills learning from Jordan and his cast of coaches which include current and former NBA players as well as college and high school players and coaches. All campers will also receive a 8 × 10 autographed photo of Jordan, a “Hoop Farm” yoga mat, a “Hoop Farm” T-Shirt and Jersey, a certificate of participation, and a week of first-class basketball…

Jordan Checks In From Israel

Getting Started in Israel

We started today by taking a tour of Jerusalem and the Old City. We saw the Western Wall, the City of David, and the different sections of the Old City; the Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Armenian quarters. I’ve been to Israel before, but I’ve never seen it in such depth and with this perspective. It was cool to get different views, and get this history of Jerusalem and Israel from the start – through the different time periods, rulers, religions and cultures that shaped the country.

Jordan visits Seeds of Peace

Jordan went to Maine yesterday to help lead a basketball clinic for kids at Seeds of Peace camp. Seeds of Peace is an organization that brings in children from war torn regions to meet and discuss the issues. This was special and moving day for the kids as well as for Jordan. Jordan visits Mattell Children's Hospital

Even though he has always played in Los Angeles, Jordan Farmar seems to be constantly moving.

On Tuesday, he was hustling down the hallways of Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, signing hats and other memorabilia just before bringing them to the kids. More importantly, he was bringing smiles.

One girl wasn’t so sure she liked hoops. “I play for the Lakers,” Farmar beamed as he handed her a shirt. He looked over to some of her family members in the room. “But you can give this to your brother if you don’t like basketball.” She grinned. And kept the shirt. Jordan joins the mayor for day of service

Mayor Villaraigosa, joined by Los Angeles Laker Jordan Farmar, rock icon Slash, and more than 4,000 volunteers and community leaders, will lead the Central Los Angeles CommUNITY Day of Service beginning at 8:30 AM, Saturday, July 19, 2008 at Casa Libre Youth Shelter at 845 South Lake St. , Los Angeles, CA 90057.

The Central Day of Service will feature more than 60 projects in the “Heart of the City,” a culturally rich and heavily populated area home to Koreatown, Thai Town, Historic Filipinotown, MacArthur Park, Hollywood, Pico-Union, Westlake,
Mid-Wilshire and surrounding neighborhoods.
