Jordan makes his return to the court
Jordan returned to the court Sunday at the Staples Center, showing no signs of rust as he helped spark the Lakers to a afternoon victory over Western Conference Rival San Antonio. Jordan had been lobbying coach Phil Jackson to activate him for the game, and Jordan got his wish.
“I said ‘I’m playing today,’” Jordan said after the game. “They know I’ve done all the tests that I’m supposed to do. My strength in my left leg is stronger than my right leg on all the testing that we did.”
“I’m ready to play. This is what I love. This is what I do. It kills me to watch them out there having so much fun and me having to sit in the back and watch with ice on my leg, hooked up to a machine. That’s just not me if I don’t have to be.”
When Jordan did get out on the court at the start of the 2nd quarter, he received a standing ovation. He then got to work getting the Lakers running, a component of their offense that has been lacking while Jordan has been on the bench. While the plan was to only play Jordan for 6 or 7 minutes, his play and energy forced Phil Jackson to leave him in the game and let him lead the team. Jordan finished with 14 points in 17 minutes, while shooting 5-7 from the field.
“I felt great,” Farmar said. “I was just trying to do some of the things I could see from afar, from sitting on the sideline just watching where I can come in and make a difference. I felt I did that tonight.”
Jordan played with full confidence in his surgically repaired left knee, and doesn’t anticipate any trouble from logging extended minutes in his first game back.
“I’m not worried at all,” Farmar said. “It hasn’t swollen up in more than a week now, no pain, no swelling, so I’m not worried.”

still went hoping to c you atleast sitting out the game, but

Congrats on being back in the game…You’re doing so great…all your hard work paid off… Have a grat rest of the season with the rest of the team,,,I’m sad I didnt get a chance to say good bye but I’m sure when you get a chance to stop by you will at least you said you would.

YES! JFARM is back!!! <3 I got the chills when I saw #5 out there at the 2nd!! You brought that spark that was missing for the passed 17 games…it was amazing! The crowe loved it…and I know your team did too. I’m so happy to see you out there doing what you do and love so much.

I literally squealed when I first saw you on the court..
I didnt expect you to play! It was one of those moments when you like havent seen an old friend in years…and when you do see them it’s HUGE.
